Dehumanization is the denial of others' humanness. By integrating sociopsychological and organizational constructs, the current project examines the correlates of this phenomenon among various occupational groups and across different countries.
Biologization and its correlates
Biologization (or biological dehumanization) is the perception of others as contagious entities and viruses rather than humans. This line of research explores its antecedents and consequences through correlational and experimental studies.
Gender stereotypes and their manifestations
Gender stereotypes shape perceptions, expectations, and behaviors from an early age, influencing identities and interactions. This line of research examines gender stereotypes across several domains, such as television advertising and sports.
Roots and effects of sexual harassment
This project investigates sexual harassment by examining both the impact of economic inequality and the effects of everyday harassment experiences on psychological well-being, self-perception, and attitudes toward gender-based violence.
Dehumanization of bullies in school contexts
The way we perceive others guides our reactions to their behaviors. This project examines how seeing bullies as "less human" affects teachers' and trainee educators' responses by shaping the balance between punitive and educational interventions.
Household food waste reduction
Food waste is a pervasive issue with severe consequences. This project investigates behavioral strategies to reduce food waste at the household level, focusing on how everyday habits can be influenced through social media content and visual nudges.
