Psychology of Social Communications

Pegaso University

In the academic year 2024/2025, I taught the course Psychology of Social Communications as assistant professor at Pegaso University, within the Master's degree program in Modern Linguistics.

The course examined core theories and concepts from social psychology, with a specific focus on communication processes. Alongside foundational topics such as  group processes, social influence, and attitudes, particular attention was given to communication models, including verbal and nonverbal communication, persuasive messaging, and dysfunctional interaction patterns. Students were also introduced to theoretical perspectives such as the semiotic, pragmatic, and strategic approaches to communication, as well as the role of mediated communication and new media.

Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a universal call to action by the United Nations to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure peace and prosperity for all by 2030. These interconnected goals provide a shared framework for addressing the world's most urgent social, economic, and environmental challenges.

This course contributes to several key SDGs by exploring how social psychology can help promote good health and well-being, gender equality, reduced inequalities, and peace, justice and strong institutions.
