Overview
In the academic year 2019/2020, I taught the course
Human Behavior in Social Contexts as adjunct professor at the
University of Trento, within the Bachelor's degree program in Social Work.
The course provided an
introduction to the foundational theories and methods of social psychology, with a specific focus on
understanding how individuals think, feel, and behave in social contexts. Topics included social perception, attitudes and attitude change, group dynamics, and the psychological underpinnings of key social issues such as poverty, social exclusion, immigration, gender dynamics, and dehumanization.
Students were encouraged to critically engage with core psychological concepts and reflect on their relevance to the
social challenges that social workers face in their professional practice. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the course was delivered entirely online, combining
asynchronous materials with
live virtual sessions to facilitate discussion and interaction during the national lockdown.
